Our sweet little boy is finally a year old. I guess it shouldn't be finally since it feels like the last year has FLOWN by faster than any year before.
On March 24, 2011 at 7:01 am our sweet little boy arrived at 7lbs 9oz and 19.5 inches long.
And now a year later he is 25.6lbs and 31.5inches long. He has 8 teeth and is working on his 1 year old molars. Drinking out of cups with straws, walking on his own, and working on learning how to use a spoon and fork. It truly amazes me to think that in one year he has gained so many skills and watching his personality develop has been a blessing. Thinking about how our lives have changed in the last year with Bryson it has been amazing. I love watching Dalton being a father and watching my boys play together. The last few weeks it has been very exciting seeing Bryson's reaction to Dalton and seeing the joy on Bryson's face makes me days worthwhile. I love each smile and giggle.
On Saturday, March 24, 2012 we had his first birthday party at our house on base. We had friends and family for a BBQ. Bryson thought it would be a great day to not nap, so it was a little bit of a rough day for him, but overall it was an enjoyable day. He got many wonderful gifts and we were so blessed by our family and friends.

Recent Adventures and Things to Come
So there have been some exciting changes in our lives over the past few months....SURPRISE! I know when is there not something crazy going on in our lives. Anyways after lots of thinking about what I wanted to do for a career I have come to realize I want to work with kids, specifically middle school and high school aged kids. So I am going back to school to get my Single Subject Credential in Biology. I started my first class at the end of February and I will finish it at the end of April. It has been interesting adding school back into the mix. While I was at Cal Poly I never remember school being this difficult to focus on, granted I was there for school and I didn't have a baby to add into the mix. Bryson likes to try and steal my textbook if I try and read while he is around and if I am taking notes he cries because he wants my pen. Needless to say my study time is limited to when he is sleeping or when Dalton is watching him. So far I have applied to CSU Fullerton ( the class I am taking is through Extended Education at Fullerton) and I have scheduled the CBEST and the CSET sub-tests I need to take and I am working on the Application Packet for the Credential Program. So far things are going well. I just see this being more challenging now than when I was at Cal Poly.
The second thing to happen recently is Dalton got a motorcycle. It's a Ducati Monster 750. He is beyond excited! Getting it home was interesting. He borrowed his cousin's truck and put it in the back using the ramp the seller had.
We do not have a ramp. So instead of a ramp to get the bike out of the truck Dalton and our neighbor Kyle used the hill behind our house.
Rolling the bike through the dirt and leaves/needles to get the bike down the hill to safety.
Luckily, everything went well getting the bike out of the truck.
Dalton on his newest toy! He really is enjoying having something to tinker with and play with in the garage (aka: his room).
This week is eventful for us as well. Tomorrow is our 2 year anniversary (of our church wedding) and Saturday is Bryson's first birthday! We are having a get together to celebrate with family and friends. I cannot wait. This year sure has flown by!

The never ending cleaning spree...
So I was looking on Facebook today and I came across this..../http://blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/0127201tidy-homes-are-overrated-right/ and it made me think that I have the same issues. But amazingly my house isn't quite this bad, right now at least. But I can still understand where she is coming from. Today I have vacuumed the living room twice and swept the kitchen twice and its only 4:30pm and I am sure I will have to do it at least once more before Bryson goes to bed. Don't even get started on the laundry...it is NEVER ending. I think I do at least 6 loads a week for 3 people. How we generate that much laundry is beyond my comprehension but it is my reality. And as for the state of the house I feel like it has gotten worse because Dalton has started working nights and Bryson is getting more and more active and that means less time for me to pick up the house. But magically we, well I am figuring out how to get the house clean...well a whole better than it was. I think if we had less clutter it would be easier. I think clutter breeds during the night, there is always so much of it.

My First Attempt at a Blog
Well here goes nothing. It seemed like a good idea to start a blog after spending time looking around Pintrest it seems like all the good craft ideas and tips are found on blogs. Some of my friends and family have blogs and I have enjoyed reading about their lives and seeing the pictures. The best part of it was that I got more than just the pictures that were on Facebook. So maybe our friends and family would be interested in seeing what we have going on.
Along with starting a blog today I figured I would try making salt dough ornaments and some other crafts that I wouldn't be devastated if Bryson pulls them down and destroys them. So far the salt dough ornaments have turned out well. I still want to paint them but it has to wait till I have paint. Bryson even helped with some of the ornaments and I am sure he would LOVE to try and help me paint them too!
